The concept meeting of the "Assessment of Drinking Water Resources and Treatment Plants Project" project was held in SUEN.
The meeting discussed alternative solutions to the improvement of drinking water treatment facilities in the selected pilot provinces (Aksaray; Gaziantep; Ankara, Beypazarı; Elazığ, Keban). Representatives of the General Directorate of Water Management (SYGM), General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI), Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Aksaray Municipality, Keban Municipality, ISKI, ASKI, MWH Engineering and Consultancy, Prof. Hasan Z. Sarıkaya and SUEN President Prof. Ahmet Mete Saatçi attended the meeting.
The "Assessment of Drinking Water Resources and Treatment Plants Project" aims to evaluate the drinking water resources and treatment plants in Turkey in terms of technical, legal and institutional aspects. Through advancing environmental protection in Turkey and ensuring compatibility with the EU directives, the project aims at accelerating the process of Turkey's accession to the EU. Coordinated by SYGM and DSI, the project was initiated on 05.12.2015. MWH Engineering and Consulting is the project's contractor.
