Mohammad Hajrasouliha, Director of the UNESCO-affiliated Regional Centre on Urban Water Management (RCUWM), based in Tehran, Iran, and Alireza Salamat, Deputy Director of the Centre, visited the Turkish Water Institute (SUEN) on 21 October 2026.
During the meeting, chaired by SUEN President Prof. Dr. Lütfi Akca, potential areas of cooperation with RCUWM, of which Türkiye is a member, in the fields of water and wastewater management were discussed. The discussions explored opportunities for technical knowledge and experience sharing, capacity development activities, and joint initiatives.
As part of the visit, a technical tour of the Paşaköy Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant was organised with the support of the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ). The delegation was briefed on the wastewater treatment processes implemented at the facility.
