The 2nd Baku Water Week – International Exhibition and Conference for Water Management, organized by the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ADSEA), was held in Baku on 10–12 September 2025 with the participation of SUEN President Prof. Dr. Lütfi Akca.

On the second day, Prof. Dr. Akca contributed to the high-level panel “Water Strategies: Infrastructure and Digitalization”, where he highlighted Türkiye’s approach to managing transboundary waters, its climate adaptation policies, and the country’s key experiences in the field. He stressed that Türkiye actively engages in cooperation and technical dialogue with neighboring countries across five transboundary river basins, with a strong emphasis on the responsible and sustainable use of water resources. He also shared insights into national initiatives such as the National Water Efficiency Campaign, basin-scale climate action plans, the promotion of modern irrigation in agriculture, water reuse and recycling in industry, and major infrastructure investments.

Reflecting on the event, Prof. Dr. Akca underlined that international gatherings like Baku Water Week provide valuable opportunities for sharing experiences, showcasing innovative technologies, and fostering stronger cooperation between countries. He also announced that Türkiye will host the 5th Istanbul International Water Forum in May 2026.
