The 4th Joint Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) and Management Committee (MC) Meeting of Blue Peace Middle East was held in Beirut from 14 to 17 December 2025. The meetings took place under the chairmanship of El Hassan bin Talal and under the patronage of Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon. Prof. Dr. Lütfi Akca, Member of the Policy Advisory Committee, and Dr. Tuğba Evrim Maden, Member of the Management Committee, participated in the meetings.
The meeting programme reviewed the progress achieved during the 2023–2026 period, examined the 2026 work plan and the external evaluation process, and included exchanges of views on strategic priorities for the post-2026 period.
During the preparatory and strategic dialogue sessions, discussions focused on activities carried out within the framework of the Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus approach, capacity-building efforts, youth programmes, and the strengthening of regional cooperation. As part of the event, technical field visits were conducted to the Zahle Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Qaraoun Dam and Lake.
In the overall assessment of the meetings, it was emphasized that the Blue Peace Middle East initiative has further strengthened its role in promoting regional dialogue and confidence-building. The importance of expanding practice-oriented cooperation in the coming period was reaffirmed.
Türkiye continued to contribute to the meetings in an active and constructive manner, maintaining its supportive approach to the objectives of the Initiative through regional cooperation, capacity-building, and knowledge-sharing efforts.
